This press release provides the data for the HDB resale and rental market in 4th Quarter 2014.
The Resale Price Index (RPI) fell by 1.5%, from 139.1 in 3rd Quarter 2014 to 137.0 in the 4th Quarter 2014 (see Annex A
(PDF 6KB), Annex A2
(PDF 10KB)). The RPI for the full year of 2014 registered a decline of 6.0%.
Resale transactions increased by 2.7%, from 4,513 cases in 3rd Quarter 2014 to 4,635 cases in 4th Quarter 2014. The number of resale transactions for the full year of 2014 was 17,318, a decrease of 4.3% compared to 2013 (see Annex B)
The median resale prices in the various towns are tabulated in Annex C
The median subletting rents in the various towns in 4th Quarter 2014 are tabulated in Annex D
Subletting approvals increased by 16.2%, from 8,923 cases in 3rd Quarter 2014 to 10,365 cases in 4th Quarter 2014 (see Annex E)
(PDF 15KB). The total number of HDB flats being sublet increased by 0.9%, from 47,707 units in Sep 2014 to 48,120 units in Dec 2014.
7In 2015, HDB will offer 16,900 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats, which will include flats in new areas such as Bidadari and Punggol Northshore.
