Enhancing Staff Talent

The Undergraduate and Mid-Term Scholarships continued to attract new talent. The HDB Internship Programme positioned HDB as an Employer of Choice and provided students with first-hand experience of HDB’s work.

The re-employment age for eligible retired staff was extended from 65 to 67 from 1 October 2014, aligned with Civil Service practices. As at the end of the FY, 334 staff members were employed under the re-employment framework.

Seven HDB Staff Seminars under the banner of ‘Knowing HDB, Growing Pride’ were organised to increase organisational knowledge and foster pride among HDB staff. In addition, efforts were made to showcase the professional work of staff.

CORPORATE CARE
In the FY, HDB staff contributed $293,482.86 to the Community Chest through the Share Programme. The HDB Share Committee also raised more than $58,000 for Community Chest through several activities. In addition, the committee also supported the President’s Challenge 2014 andraised $29,286 for the President’s Challenge beneficiaries.

In October 2014, HDB received two awards at the Community Chest Awards Presentation Ceremony for its contributions in support of Community Chest in FY 2013. HDB also continued to promote environmental awareness amongst staff through various activities.

AWARDS
In the FY, HDB garnered several local and international awards which affirmed HDB’s continued commitment to achieving excellence. HDB’s Punggol Master Plan received the Excellence on the Waterfront Honour Award under the Waterfront Plans Category. The Bidadari Estate Master Plan was conferred the prestigious Singapore Institute of Architects Architectural Design Award under the Urban Design category.

Toa Payoh Town received the Platinum Singapore Good Design Mark Award 2015, under the SG50 Special Award category by the Design Business Chamber Singapore.

HDB brought home one Star and 14 Gold awards at the Team Excellence Symposium. It also clinched the FutureGov Award 2014 for re-designing the customer experience in Punggol Branch. At the ministry level, HDB won the MND Minister’s Award (Team) 2014 and the 2014 Best Practice Award (Regulation).

In 2015, 150 HDB staff members were conferred the Excellent Service Award (EXSA), a national award that recognises those who have delivered quality service.
